Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive EU (2022/2464)
The CSRD directive in the EU imposes requirements on businesses to report on their ESG activities, so that investors, customers and other stakeholders can make informed decisions. The CSRD affects close to ~50,000 business in the EU.
In 2023 the Europrean Commission adopted the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which provide the technical requirements and guidance into the disclosure process, inclduing the requirements to perform a double materiality assessment. There are 12 ESRS documents with hunderds of datapoints on which companies will have to report.
